We understand that paying for a funeral is something that can be difficult. We have developed several funeral packages to help all situations. If one of the packages doesn’t suit your needs, please speak to a member of staff, who will be happy to help.
Direct Funeral Options
Direct Cremation Package
A direct cremation is for those who would prefer a simpler funeral. It’s different to a traditional funeral as there is no service and no one present at the cremation.
The Direct Cremation package Includes
- Bringing your loved one in to our care and looking after them until the day of the funeral
- Having experienced and friendly staff to help advise and arrange the funeral, to make the process as smooth as possible
- Taking care of all of the necessary paperwork and communications to 3rd parties on behalf of the family
- Washing and dressing your loved one in either their own clothes or one of our gowns
- Providing the appropriate vehicle and staff to meet the needs of the funeral and cremation
- Provision of the Ashford coffin
- External 3rd party fees are included
Please note the following;
- There is no funeral service with this package and no option for attendance at the crematorium
- The package does not include use of the chapel or rest

Attended Direct Cremation
This option allows for the attendance of up to 8 mourners to attend the direct cremation at Forest Park Crematorium.
In addittion the the Direct cremation package, this also includes;
- Our experienced funeral director will be there to assist with the service and help advise the family
- An opportunity to conduct a small committal service incorporating all faith or cultural needs
- Full payment for this option is required at the time of booking to confirm arrangements
- Two pieces of music chosen by the family to be played on entrance and exiting of the chapel.

Attended Funeral Options
We also offer the following packages for a more traditional attended funeral option.
Early Morning Cremation Service £2,200.00 inclusive of disbursement costs
This option allows for up to 20 mourners to attend the crematorium chapel for a short 20 minute service which is family led, or conducted by one of our in house independent funeral celebrants.
This option is inclusive of crematorium and Doctors’ fees, Full Payment is required prior to the funeral taking place. This option includes the following;
- Bringing your loved one in to our care and looking after them until the day of the funeral (out of hours collection fees my still apply).
- Having experienced and friendly staff to help advise and arrange the funeral, to make the process as smooth as possible
- Taking care of all of the necessary paperwork and communications to 3rd parties on behalf of the family. External 3rd party fees are included, such as crematorium fees and medical certificates.
- Washing and dressing your loved one in either their own clothes or one of our gowns
- Providing the appropriate vehicle and staff to meet the needs of the funeral.
- Provision of the Beckingham coffin
- Up to a maximum of 20 Family and friends are able to attend the early morning funeral. The Mourners are to meet at the crematorium.
- One of our in-house independent funeral celebrants to conduct the service.
- Our experienced funeral director will be there to assist with the service and help advise the family
Simple Attended Funeral
Our Simple Attended Funeral package, includes the provision of our Mercedes Hearse to meet the family and mourners at the crematorium, cemetery or burial ground chosen by the family.
The simple package Includes
- Bringing your loved one in to our care and looking after them until the day of the funeral
- Having experienced and friendly staff to help advise and arrange the funeral, to make the process as smooth as possible
- Taking care of all of the necessary paperwork and communications to 3rd parties on behalf of the family
- Washing and dressing your loved one in either their own clothes or one of our gowns
- The use of our chapel of rest by appointment to visit your loved one (office hours only)
- Provision of a Mercedes hearse and all the staff to meet the needs of the funeral
- The provision of the Beckingham coffin, with a choice of colour interior
- Collection of cremated remains after the service

Silver Funeral Package
Our silver package includes the provision of a limousine to take the family to the funeral service and back.
The Silver package Includes;
- Bringing your loved one in to our care and looking after them until the day of the funeral
- Having experienced and friendly staff to help advise and arrange the funeral, to make the process as smooth as possible
- Taking care of all of the necessary paperwork and communications to 3rd parties on behalf of the family
- Washing and dressing your loved one in either their own clothes or one of our deluxe silk gowns
- The use of our chapel of rest by appointment to visit your loved one
- Provision of a Mercedes hearse and all the staff to meet the needs of the funeral
- Provision of one Mercedes limousine which seats up to 6 members of family or friends
- The provision of the Beckingham coffin, with a choice of colour interior
- Collection of cremated remains after the service
- A memory box, presented to you on the day of the funeral

Our new Eco package has been set up to help accommodate the growing desire for an environmentally low impact funeral whilst still creating a lovely, personal send off for our loved ones.
The Eco Package Includes
All funeral directors fees included in our package prices, including;
- Bringing your loved one into our care and looking after them, dressing and caring for them until the day of the funeral
- Having experienced and friendly staff to help advise and arrange the funeral with you, to make the process as smooth as possible
- The use of our chapel of rest to visit your loved one
- Provision of a hearse, experienced funeral director and 4 pallbearers on the day of the funeral
- The provision of our beautiful, natural, Willow coffin and wooden name plate
Burial in the Wildflower Meadow at The Old Meadow burial ground, an award winning cemetery.
All burial and grave purchase costs included.

Bespoke Funerals
If one of our packages doesn’t suit your requirements, we have a bespoke price list and can tailor the arrangements to your exact requirements. Our price list is as follows:

Our professional staff will be available 24 hours a day to help with your requirements by telephone, at your home or in our offices; advising you and taking your instructions for the funeral arrangements; Liaising with and making payments to external parties on your behalf; providing advice and guidance on registration of death and benefits agency procedures; preparation, collection and distribution of all documents.
On the day of the funeral we will provide a funeral director and all the necessary personnel to carry out the planned arrangements in accordance with your instructions; and the provision of ongoing assistance thereafter.
Out of hours charge may apply.

The attendance of our staff, the provision of a suitable vehicle and necessary equipment to bring the deceased person in to our care; Preparing the deceased and dressing them in their own clothes or gown as required; Laying to rest in the coffin/casket selected; The facilities to care for the deceased until the funeral. Including, if desired viewing in the chapel of rest by appointment.

Embalming is a process where the deceased is cleaned and temporarily preserved, restoring as much dignity for the deceased as possible and giving a more natural appearance.

Disbursements
What are Disbursements?Disbursements are also often called external fees, these are fees that we pay out on your behalf before the funeral can take place. The three main disbursements that you will incur for a cremation are listed below; |

Doctors’ fee This fee is for two doctors to complete the legal paperwork needed for a cremation to take place confirming the cause of death. This is a legal requirement in England. | £82 per doctor Currently due to covid-19, Only one doctors fee is payable. |
Minister’s/Celebrant fee – Optional This is the person who will conduct the service on the day of the funeral. | £230 our celebrants currently cost this amount, however, if you have a particular minister/ celebrant in mind for your service, they may charge a higher fee. |

Above is a list of the three local crematoriums, within a 30 minute drive from Binder & Sons.

Please note: A fuel surcharge may be applicable at certain crematoriums. Please speak to staff to find out if your chosen crematorium has applied this fee.
Deposit and Payment Terms & Conditions
Direct (Unattended) Cremation options are to be paid in full before the funeral is to take place. Failure to do so, may result in the cremation being delayed or cancelled.
Attended funeral package options require a deposit of Disbursement costs + 30% of the Funeral Director fees to be paid within 3 days of confirming the funeral arrangement. Failure to do so, may result in the funeral being delayed or cancelled.
The remaining balance is to be paid within 4 weeks of the funeral taking place.
Failure to make the full payment to Binder & Sons by the due date, may result in a charge of interest on the overdue amount at a rate of 8% a year.
